Inventory Overview

The Inventory module tracks stock levels across multiple warehouses, alerts you when stock is low, and integrates with the procurement workflow to reorder automatically.

Core Concepts

• Stock Level — The current quantity on hand for a product variant per warehouse
• Reserved Stock — Items in pending orders that haven't shipped yet
• Available Stock — Stock Level minus Reserved Stock
• Reorder Point — Minimum quantity that triggers a low-stock alert or auto-reorder
• Warehouse — A physical or virtual location holding stock

Stock Adjustment Types

• Purchase — Stock received from a supplier via a Purchase Order
• Sale — Stock deducted when an order ships
• Return — Stock added back when a customer returns an item
• Adjustment — Manual correction (e.g., damaged goods, inventory count discrepancy)
• Transfer — Movement of stock from one warehouse to another
