Catalog Overview
Catalog Overview
The Catalog module is the backbone of your store. It manages every product you sell — physical goods, digital downloads, subscription software, gift cards, and service-based offerings.
Key Concepts
- Products — The items you sell, with prices, images, and descriptions
- Categories — Hierarchical groupings (e.g., Electronics → Phones)
- Brands — Manufacturer or brand labels assignable to products
- Attributes — Properties like Color or Size used to create product variations
- Bundles — Groups of products sold together at a special price
Product Types Supported
Every product picks one kind on creation, which decides its pricing, fulfillment, and inventory behavior:
- Physical Goods — Tangible goods with stock tracking and shipping
- Digital Download — A downloadable file (PDF, media, archive) with no license key
- Software License — Licensed software; only issues a license key when Has Releases is enabled, otherwise it behaves like a Digital Download
- Subscription Plan — Recurring billing products (monthly, annual, lifetime)
- Gift Card — Pre-paid cards redeemable at checkout
- Service Package — Non-tangible, non-downloadable offerings fulfilled as a project (see Service module)
- Metered Usage Pack — Pre-paid usage credit consumed over time (e.g., API calls, AI generation credits)
