Digital Products Overview

The platform provides first-class support for digital product selling. Product types include:

Software License — PHP scripts, WordPress plugins, themes, apps. Only issues a license key when Has Releases is enabled on the product (see below) — otherwise it delivers like a plain digital download
Digital Download — PDFs, images, audio, video, documents, or any single file — always delivered as a download entitlement, never a license key
Subscription Plan — Recurring billing with version access control
Gift Card — Pre-paid store credit cards
Service Package — Non-downloadable offerings (consulting, SaaS onboarding)
Metered Usage Pack — Pre-paid usage credit (e.g., API calls, generation credits) consumed over time

Every digital product resolves to exactly one of two fulfillment paths at checkout, and the two behave differently for the customer:

Digital Delivery — the customer gets an entitlement plus a signed, time-limited download link. No license key is issued. This applies to all Digital Download products, and to Software License products that do not have releases configured.
Software Access — the customer gets an AES-256 encrypted license key (see Software Licensing) in addition to release downloads. This only applies to Software License products with the Has Releases switch turned on in the product form.

Digital products do not require inventory or shipping. Stock management is disabled automatically for digital types.

After a successful purchase, the customer receives a confirmation email with:

A temporary, time-limited download link (for downloadable products and products without releases)
Their license key (only for Software License products with releases enabled)
