Getting Started: Your First Production Order

Getting Started: Your First Production Order

Fifteen minutes from empty module to a completed production order.

1. Set up the factory (once)

Step 1 Admin → Manufacturing → Work Centers
Create one work center per line/cell. Set daily capacity minutes.

Step 2 Admin → Manufacturing → BOMs
Create a BOM for a product you make: output item + component lines.
Publish a version (effective from today).

Step 3 (Optional) Routings
Add operation steps with setup/run times per work center —
the scheduler uses them; unrouted items still schedule fine.

Step 4 (Optional) Industry preset
Pick a preset (food, pharma, electronics…) to auto-activate
the compliance features your industry expects.

2. Run the daily flow

Demand arrives (order, forecast or manual signal)
   ↓
Planned order proposed (MRP) → firm it when you agree
   ↓
Production order created → release to the floor
   ↓
Issue materials from stock → WIP tracked automatically
   ↓
Record output (good/graded/by-products)
   ↓
Quality inspection (if the item's policy requires it)
   ↓
Complete the order → finished goods enter inventory,
                                  actual costs post to Accounting

Every step fires live events — dashboards and boards update in real time for everyone watching.

3. Small-shop shortcut

Skip planning entirely: Production Orders → New, pick the BOM, quantity and due date. Everything else (planning, scheduling, forecasting) can stay switched off until you need it.
